This is my first time to submit to the Threadcakes competition. It was fun to come up with the lights in the tree. This image really spoke to me. I am a children’s book author and illustrator who uses cake as my medium in illustration. Seeing the children enjoying reading under this lit up tree was so great!

I used really battery operated lights and attached them to the tree with floral tape. I then covered everything with modeling chocolate. I want to make a forest of these trees!!!

This is a fun and great way to create and share cakes. Thanks to Threadless Threadcakes for the wonderful opportunity to share our creations.
