Hello Friends,
I am so excited to share my Wedding Cake design for DIY Wedding Magazine’s Around the World Wedding Cakes.
I had to do a cake inspired by my country, Malta.
From the hand painted bottom tier, the locals will know what my inspiration was.
For the non locals, it’s St John’s Cathedral, in Valetta, It was built by the Knights of St. John between 1573 and 1578, and It’s a real jem full of art, gold and architecture. The architecture of this cathedral is breath taking, and I always wanted to use some of the elements in cake.
The design has so many techniques. Hand painting, piped royal icing, cake lace, sugar flowers, 2D modelling and bas relief
I’m so honored to be a part of this beautiful collection of wedding cake designs from around the world!
Thank you to Candace Chand and DIY Weddings Magazine for the opportunity.
