I designed this cake looking for something that could represent a little bit of my country, Mexico.
On top tier, I placed a potrait of the famous painter Frida Kahlo, with a background similar to her potrait in the VOGUE magazine. This lady was known for painting her own potraits.
The rest of the tiers represents some patterns of mexican folkloric dresses worn by Frida and by handmade dolls.
On bottom of cake, one of her famous quotes “Feet, What do I need you, for when I have wings to fly?”
Used fondant, royal icing and cake lace, wafer paper to achieve this design.
