This cake was for my hubby. He’s a huge fan of San Francisco and even proposed to me by the Golden Gate Bridge so, when I was struggling with inspiration for his birthday cake, it felt like a good choice.
I created the multi-tone blue around the cake by rolling out strips of different shades of blue sugar paste and joining them with a little clear alcohol to create one large strip which was then wrapped around the cake.
