This was a cake for a dear friend who owns a local restaurant, here in Payson. He has been trained all around the world in the culinary arts and requested a 50th birthday cake that showed all the places he has studied/trained. He didn’t give us any specifics of what he wanted, except the places he went. And with that we got right to work… We came up with the idea to make a vintage set of suitcases and a small globe to really showcase his travels. It was a very auspicious moment for him, because he had no clue what to expect.

When he saw the cake, he got a little choked up because it so happens that when he did travel the world on his culinary adventures, his dad had given him an old vintage suitcase to travel and he used it every time! He said, “It looks exactly like the one my dad gave me at the bottom of my closet!” The party was a success and the cake was the highlight of his night, which was all we were aiming for.
