When my friends daughter approached me to do a cake for her friend and told me that she wanted a turtle I got excited. The last time that I did a turtle was back in 2008, pre airbrush, for my eldest nephews 18th. Yes, I wanted to do it and no I was not going to charge this 18 year old full price because I wanted to do it and I did not want to dash her dream of a bespoke cake for her bestie with the nickname of Mocha and who loves turtles! The cake that forms Mocha’s body is a 6" that was carved. Everything else is sugarpaste. The cake was airbrushed from white and for once in my life I exercised some patience and it paid off. Finished off with a little hand painting. I really will struggle to part with this one.
Marvelous!
