This cake both gave me great joy and broke my heart. I had wanted to make a Doc McStuffins themed cake for a long time, so when the client came to me with this, I was so excited. I had a blast making the cake and the figures. However, when it came time to deliver the cake, which was 25 miles away, it just so happened to be almost 100 degrees out. Even with the A/C up full blast, the fondant and the cake got too soft, and a bump sent the top tier onto it’s side(thank goodness it was in a box!). Somehow, the top tier remained perfectly in tact, but the bottom tier ended up with a split down the side where the cake was exposed. Not pretty. Thankfully the client was so gracious and just put a little doll in front of the crack. Her daughter cutely said, “It’s only a small, crack”. It really was bigger than that, but it all worked out in the end. :) I was just glad the little girl was still happy with her cake!
So pretty!! Sorry you had mishaps!! Im glad it was ok in the end!! :-) x
