This cake was made to celebrate Alex & Henry’s Christening and 2nd Birthday. The 10" square fruit cake base tier was made 3 years ago for their parents’ wedding. It had been perfectly preserved and was still wonderfully moist and smelt divine! I topped it with a chocolate cake toy chest stuffed full of Alex & Henry’s favourite toys: bears, books, balls, blocks, a rubber duck, a bunny and a car. The boys’ nicknames are Bear and Frog, hence Mr Bear and Mr Frog being at the front. Another cake packed full of firsts for me: the first time I had repurposed a cake, first sugarpaste stripes (never again), and my first cake with a lid (thank you Tracey from Little Cherry Cake Company (T-Cakes) for your fab tutorial published in Cake Masters a couple of months ago!)
I hope you like it. Thank you for looking :) x
