I made this cake for my brother’s 50th birthday. For some reason he’s always wanted to own a vintage diver’s helmet, something that’s probably not going to happen so my gorgeous nieces asked me if I’d make him one in cake, which I was more than happy to do.
Because I also had a wedding cake to do for that weekend I decided to do the actual mask using a dummy so that I could ice & decorate it in advance. If I’d had more time I would have added more detail to it but I was really pleased with the end result.
I was literally finishing the cake as we were walking out the door to his party so didn’t get to take any photos against a decent backdrop but have photoshopped it onto a background.
