This cake was a welcome distraction for me this week, as my oldest sister Maureen passed away one week ago today. It was with a heavy heart that I baked and created this cake. It is amazing how ganaching a cake can bring on tears of relief when finished. I have had no time to reflect on my sister, for as the saying goes “Life goes on”. But knowing that this cake would bring joy to the bride and groom had helped to push me through this week.
