I was asked to make a cake for a travel agent so I took inspiration from the beach. It’s a coffee sponge top with a vanilla bottom covered in ganache and seaside inspired coloured fondant. This was my first attempt at making the frangipane flowers but I think they turned out really well. I used a mold for the shells and starfish but everything else is handmade/hand cut. The sand is crushed up biscuits and it’s all finished off with a hessian ribbon.
Cake fixes everything!
