Wood grain and delicate bas relief berries, acorns, blossoms and leaves. This beauty took over 14 hours of decorating (I had one small mold for all the details – oy) but the result is well worth the dark circles under my eyes! I have wanted to do a bas relief cake for a while but also wanted to put my own style into the design by mixing textures. I decided to keep it a white on white cake with just a bit of pearl sheen and keep the bas relief one just the one side so it would look like it was slowly taking over but keep the sharp lines on the opposite side. I topped it with a gumpaste Maggie Austin style frilled peony. Thanks for looking! <3 Shannon
