I loved making this cake. Rich chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ganache in the shape of one of Mrs Lovett’s ‘meat’ pies. Eyeball, lovely rotting molar, a finger, nose and a few guts for added measure. The anatomy classes from my undergraduate days helped a great deal. Though the research on this one was a bit gory, the cut-throat razor was a beautiful piece of art to recreate.

I’ve never had a client call me at 10pm to squeal their delight down a phone before! As one of my first cakes, it was such a huge encouragement to know that what I do makes people happy.
