Made this cake 2 weekends ago. This was my first time making a cake with fresh flower separators. In this case, I provided the fresh roses and I must say that I had no idea how to care for them prior to ordering them. I learned quite a few things by the time I was done with the cake. For instance, if you want the roses to bloom in time for the event, order them at least 3 days prior to using them and keep at room temp. If time is not on your side, as it wasn’t for me, you can put them out in the sun. The heat helps them open up quickly. I also learned that if you run out of flower preservatives, there are recipes online using household ingredients. So there it is. I hope the cake is pleasing to your eyes 😊
