Based on an original drawing by Ivik Nier, this piece is a twisted version of Sleeping Beauty and the famous spinning wheel that sends her into an eternal sleep. Rather than the peaceful rendition we are used to, this vision shows our Aurora tied to the spinning wheel, pierced and bled out, her sacrificed blood rising as a demonic hand to hold the spindle of the wheel, controlling her terrible fate.

I really pushed my newb modeling skills with this piece, and it fought me the whole way. Mostly made of modeling chocolate on a structure, I also used 50/50 mc/fondant for parts of her, mostly the legs, as well as gumpaste for the spinning wheel.
