When it seems most 7 year old girls are requesting Frozen or Monster High cakes for their birthdays, this birthday girl wanted a white bunny eating grass & flours with a squirrel beside it. A very unique request to say the least.

A couple of firsts for me with this one. I have never worked with modeling chocolate but I made my own & mixed it 50/50 with fondant to do the squirrel (which is rkt underneath). This was also my first go at making life like animals. I used the short fur impression mat by Elisa Strauss for the texture.

Carving is not my strength but I hope to get better as I do more. I also need to improve making eyes so that they look more life like. Any suggestions?

I know there is plenty of room for improvement but I was still happy with the end result & so was the birthday girl. I received a lovely email to say it was a huge hit at the party :-)
