A special 50th Birthday sugar shoe for a young lady who loves rainbow colours and butterflies. I heard that butterflies had special meaning to the birthday girl, which for her represent the souls of her deceased parents and brother. So much loss in her life that I wanted to brighten her day with gorgeous neon colours, textures and the most delicate ivory lace butterflies. The two butterflies at the front of the shoe represent her parents while the butterfly at the heel strap is her brother. The dragon flies on the heel represent change and new adventures ahead. I am pleased to say she absolutely loved it.

I used wafer paper to create tasselled texture and movement, then brushed several coats of neon lustre dusts to graduate the rainbow colour around the shoe. Butterflies are of course cake lace set in the shape and position I wanted particularly along the structure of the stilletto heel.
