Wishing everyone a very happy easter. I am sharing a cake very close to my heart as a cake decorater. This cake is symbolic of my own spiritual journey. I hope I manage to get through to a few of you :) I got inspired by the altar at a church decorated in a similar fashion for the good friday ceremony. Tried to replicate it on a cake design.
For me the crown of thorns on top of this cake is a reminder that Jesus was, and is, indeed a king
The wood cross represents my duty to follow in Christ’s footsteps, it is my shield of faith and is symbolic of God’s promise to us of eternal life. Of course , The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. We still have before us , work, discipline, sacrifice.
The red flowing fabric represents , the resurrection, as a promise of presence; we are not on our own. It gives me hope that I too “ shall rise.”
