An awful name for a pretty flower. I made these today with Platinum Paste, first time working with it and I like it but the dried petals are very fragile. I broke several but didn’t repair them because in nature I imagine a few petals are probably missing. I used styrofoam rose buds for the centers, cut the lavender petals with a rose petal color and veined them with my Vanda Orchid veiner. The petals are just a 5 petal cutter with each petal cut in half with scissors. In nature these are a wild flower and I imagine much smaller, I took artistic licence in making them larger.

Here is the real flower in nature, a Yahoo Image.

Thank you Luna. I think I would rather make sugar flowers than decorate a cake.

You did an amazing job! No difference between the ones you made and the real ones!

So pretty and So realistic! I agree it’s an awful name but you can see why it was given :-D

Thanks Elli and Julia. Yes, I see why they call it that but couldn’t they thought of something more fun? :)
