Another design for Squires Exhibition 2015 that I did. This one was a very personal design as the pattern is one which I’ve drawn on school books, shoes, bags, painted on canvas in different colours. Five years ago I made a similar cake for a friends wedding but with a larger nozzle and it wasn’t all over like this one. You can see how my skills have come on since then in the photo where I compare the two cakes.
The cake was covered in Squires Kitchen sugarpaste Antique Lace which is a lovely colour with cream royal icing piped all over. I did intend to finish it off with flowers but ran out of time but a spray of Lily of the Valley with a ribbon trailing down was what I had planned.

You should do Ellie, I love it and when I first started decorating as a teenager that’s what I tried first. Just get yourself some sugarpaste on a board and get going! :)
