I was asked to create a birthday cake featuring the two favourite Beatrix Potter characters of birthday girl Caitlin. Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck were such fun to make!
Figures hand-modelled in a mixture of modelling paste and flower paste; Peter Rabbit is hand-coloured with edible food dusts to give him a more nuanced shade rather than a flat brown colour.
Vanilla madeira cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry preserve filling.
Beautiful cake!

Hi Rebecca! Nice to see you too. I’ve been so slow at getting over here…I find that if I’m not careful I spend far too much time online so I’ve limited the social media platforms that I’ve joined, but have cracked with CakesDecor! Hope you’re well xx
Awww, too cute
You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits
Beautiful cake

Such a sweet cake Fiona – I love Beatrix Potter! It is lovely here on CD – really friendly and supportive. (the only downside for me being that if you comment on someones cake, unless you actually click ‘follow discussion’ you have no idea if they have said something back to you). And that is the only negative as far as I can see. xx
