I have longed to make a proper garden theme cake for ages simply because I love gardening! But its not my love for gardening that makes this one special. Not even remotely.

This girl had ordered a cake for her dad on his birthday long back and she wanted to order a cake for her mom on her D day last month. Unfortunately, I saw her enquiry late and she had to order elsewhere. And her mom did not like the cake much and ended up reminiscing about the cake I had made long back smile emoticon So the girl wanted her mom to have her wish, a cake from me. And since her mom loves gardening, we ended up with this design inspired by a whole lot of gardening cakes from the net. To love and care for your mother this much when you are in your twenties means the mother has done a damn good job of raising her.

And to add, I made this on a day when I usually don’t bake anything other than for my family. All I could think of while making these toppers was about my mother. She never liked gardening in her life, it was my father’s department all the while. But she took to gardening when my father couldnt continue with it and she has been at it all these years, every single day, without fail. Even when she is travelling, she ensures that my father’s fav lawn doesn’t wither away and that I believe is her way of connecting with him…So this one is for my mother, the strongest lady I have ever met….
