My daughter wanted a Rapunzel cake for her 3rd birthday.
I made a two tier strawberry sponge cake iced in swiss mirangue buttercream (tinted beige). I made a huge yellow fondant plait and i used cocktail sticks to hold in in place. I handmade little flowers with lovely purple sugar gems in the centre.
The tower was made with a cobble stone impression sheet on white modelling chocolate. I stuffed it with marshmallows and kept it in the fridge until just before we needed it.
The kids loved the cake and luckily i happened to have enough flowers on her hair that each child got a flower with their slice of cake :-)
