I was asked to make a cake in the theme of the children’s book “Fox’s Socks”, which I happily obliged. So I decided to recreate a scene from the book which I thought was quite sweet with little Miss Mouse holding a cup of tea while Mr Fox contemplates his lost socks! The bottom tier and bed is cake as is the old, scratched up chest holding one of his lost socks. Mr Fox finally evolved after some helpful advice by the wonderful Bethann Dubey from Dubey Cakes, which I am extremely grateful for. He was then hand painted to create the texture of a wirey and furry fox. Miss Mouse is standing on the tiniest of toes under her cute little dress. No cutters were used, I hand modelled everything. I finished off the cake with edible images of pages from the book laid haphazardly around the bottom tier. I really hope you like this :)
