Vintage aviation themed birthday cake for my adorable nephew who celebrated his 1st Birthday. My crafty sis had the sweetest setup with vintage banners, pinwheel maps, menu cards and coordinating decor.
The design itself was something she envisioned and I think it turned out perfectly! …and inside, everyone’s favourite…chocolate truffle cake with a fluffy chocolate frosting masked in a vanilla swiss meringue. The lower tier was decorated with a hand cut fondant starburst pattern and accented by hand with petal dust to give a vintage look. An edible propeller on the centre tier with edible pinwheel toppers complimented the overall design and matched the event decor perfectly. …and just like that he’s ONE!!!
