I threw this cake together last minute for a potluck, and tried out a new messy buttercream ruffle technique I saw in a video and wanted to try to replicate. I absolutely Love how it turned out!! My friends at the potluck couldn’t believe I made it (because many didn’t know I’m a decorator), and that it only took my about 7 minutes to ice. Red velvet and chocolate layers with a chocolate buttercream filling, and peppermint buttercream icing. Hope you like it, and Merry Christmas!

Thanks, everyone!! Yes, Onetier, the opening looks like a thin C. You get this effect with a med consistency icing. With a thick icing, you can make tulips – I haven’t tried that yet, but soon :)
