A Winter Wedding Cake

Nearly a year after been contacted by the Bride! After many changes of heart [design wise] until they settled for “surprise us!” Must said I went into panic mode after that “surprise us”. The Bottom Tier is a 12" Victoria sponge and the fondant has accent in silver leaf. The Middle Tier is an 8/" Double Barrel consisting of Lemon for the bottom and coffee and salted caramel for the upper cake and I hand painted the for sides to match parts of the couple’s Wedding invitation which I though were very beautiful and I mixed those motifs [the japanese cranes and trees] with a Art Nouveau/Deco style painting in purples [Bridesmaids dress colour ] and pale browns and ochre for a more winterly palette, all finished with purple sugar roses and flowers. Each side is different, like telling a story. The Top Tier is a 6×6″ Chocolate Brownie Cake where I applied edible silver sequins. All flanked by two Macaroon Towers with the Couple’s Monogram!
