This weekend’s cake – Delivered to Barbarella’s, Buxton yesterday for a fabulous birthday celebration!

Allow us to introduce Equine X

We had the pleasure of creating this delectable sugar syrup vanilla cake ( bottom tier), comprising of; Soft, white & fluffy buttercream, with a centre of Buxton Brownie bites & smooth milk chocolate truffles.

Tier two was a double chocolate truffle cake comprising of; A light brown sugar syrup coating & a chocolate truffle ganache buttercream. I then coated with a smooth layer of vanilla sugar paste & painted a free hand woodland scene. The horses head is hand sculpted out of sugar & painted with edible paint. All was edible including the gold leaf border. The golden sequins & cake board however were not edible. I felt the sequins would compliment the tones & hues /finish the cake off perfectly.

The clients requirements were a black & gold, horse themed cake. This cake was a true pleasure to bake & create, & was for a very lovely young lady who it would seem has a fabulous passion for horses!

This cake was a true pleasure X

Thank you to my fabulous partner, Paris Wilson & the amazing Phil Sproson Photography for your help & expertise X
