Penguin and Egg – 8/1/10 – Our littlest daughter LOVES penguins, and the familiar movie we all know that shows so many of them. This 3-d sculpted cake was a huge hit – yet another delighted client. She even hung tough when it came time to cut the head off, but Grandma nearly fainted. Baby Birthday Girl’s favorite cake is mama’s Golden Almond Vanilla with lots and lots of chocolate ganache. This one has a gumpaste/fondant center head and egg. The egg was surprisingly difficult. Powder color was used on the neck tint, and the mouth on the beak is hand-painted.
