This cake was a huge labor of love for me. Done for the Festival of Lights Collaboration to bring to light the beautiful holiday of Diwali. Taking 2 weeks of no less than 16 hours a day and many days more, it was extremely important to me to “get it right” and show the respect this cake deserved. Knowing how important she is to so many people, attention to detail was paramount. I have received so many beautiful messages of thanks and gratitude from people all over the world. She is constructed primarily from modeling chocolate, with layered fondant to create the details. It was a huge project measuring over 4 1/2 feet wide, 4 feet deep and 3 1/2 feet tall. Julie you know how much I love this cake, I think its the most amazing cake of one of my favourite Goddesses.
