My friend had seen a baby bum cake that I’d done and wanted me to make her one for her sons Christening. She’s my perfect kind of client i.e. she always allows me free reign to do what I want and I find this is the best opportunity to try something new. She wanted two tiers but needed it to feed 80 so i decided to double barrel the base tier which was a 9" round. I’d seen a cake somewhere else that had silver leaf with a stencil design over the top and decided to give it a go. It had to be stencilled in sections and had to be left to dry in between additions. It wasn’t as perfect as I would have liked but she loved it.
