This is the cake which I made for my son’s 6th birthday. He is a stickler for detail so the pressure was on! The cake is mint choc chip fudge (his request as it’s his favourite), covered in chocolate ganache and marbled sugarpaste. The cake board is covered with sugarpaste and then individually cut & placed sugarpaste dots (which took quite a while!). The figures and space ships are sugarpaste/flower paste, I painted some detail onto the cake and the light sabres are painted cookie pop sticks.

He loved the cake so it was all worthwhile!

PS. I panicked as I was taking the photo as I realised that I’d forgotten one of Darth Vader’s hands! Luckily, after checking with a star wars fanatic, I realised that he did loose a hand at some point so I didn’t bother making another one!

Fab modelling and that starry sky effect is brilliant! That board must have taken hours and as Bethann said, wow to the sharp edges!! :-) x

Thanks everyone! Lovely comments. Yes, the board did take a while but it was surprisingly therapeutic!
