Black & Gold Skull

My first attempt at making a skull cake using the Wilton pan. After buying the pan over 9 months ago I was totally intimidated by it, not by actually making the cake but around that time so many cake artist who not only I admired but the whole cake industry seemed to admire too all did a skull collaboration how could I compete with that so I put the box to the back of the cupboard and forgot about it. Then I got that dreaded order ‘can I order a skull cake like the skull vodka for my daughters 18th? It needs to be black and gold’. I couldn’t afford to turn down the order I’ve just set up a shop I need all the cash I can get to pay my monthly bills.

So here it is, it turned out pretty good and now I’m addicted to the skull pan I want to make more.
