Hi all,
this is the first of my wedding cakes for this weekend. It’s an ombre peach & gold number decorated with wafer paper flowers and edible pearls – the request from the bride was in the choice of colours, but I had free reign over the rest of the design. It was a bit of a beast – 7", 9" and double-barrel 11" rounds weighing in at a hefty 15.5kg – I didn’t realise you needed such muscle for this job XD
This was my first ever stacked 3 tier cake with internal supports. Also the first time I had made a fondant covered wedding cake including the first time I’d covered a double barrel tier – and accordingly had a few mishaps before managing to get it right… but finally did (hurrah!) I KICKED THAT FONDANTS BUTT!! YEAH!!
vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache, coated in homemade misbehaving mmf.
