This cake was made for a lovely family who celebrated a hair cutting ceremony. The head features bra’ds, ribbon and shells and is nested amongst palm leaves. The green was requested as the Green Lantern green, I used creative cake decorating lime green colouring. The blue was coloured by adding pink and purple to Bakels blue fondant (it took quite some time to get this shade). On the middle tier there is a lace feature which was the closest I could find to Dads tattoo which was made up of waves and mountains.
The bottom tear is a hula skirt. The white stars represent the 15 Islands that make up the Cook Islabnds.
As part of this celebration the cake will be sent to family who reside in these areas.
If I’m lucky enough to make a similar cake again I will ensure I have lots of photos to use as reference, I only had one blury one which was kind of trial, guess, error and rectify.
Everyone loved it, I feel very privileged to be able to say ‘I was asked to make this cake’ such an amazing bunch of people.
