This is the cake I made for the Cake Boss competition event in Abu Dhabi last week. There was no given theme hence I made what currently matters most to me – Gaza. This is my expression in cake form of the agony. Yes, it is controversial; yes it may not suit everyone’s tastes; but I was proud to make this cake and have it displayed to hundreds and thousands of people.

In the words of Anthony Maslin & Marite Norris, another family who lost all their three children in another hatred led disaster by the MH17 tragedy, “No hate in the world is as strong as the love we have for our children.”
