Whoops!! No, don’t worry – it’s supposed to look like that. How’s this for a quirky wedding cake?! This 3 tier (12" fruit, 10" vanilla, 8" chocolate) cake was made for Kate and Joe who came to me with some very specific quirky ideas for their cake. The teal and red was to match the colour scheme of the wedding and I spent a considerable amount of time mixing the exact shade of teal to match a swatch of fabric from the bridesmaid dresses!
Each each was then finished with either ivory edible lace or ivory edible pearls – nearly 600 of them, all individually placed! The mugs on top were hand made using sugarpaste and moulded around two of my daughters plastic beakers. The happy couple wanted one of the mugs to have spilt its hot chocolate (chocolate royal icing) contents down the side of the cake, so that’s exactly what I did and I’m pleased to say they LOVED it. 100% edible.
Thank you for looking :) x
