Crown Royal Grooms Cake

Crown Royal Grooms Cake

The cake is “best ever banana” with a cream cheese and crown royal maple flavored buttercream filling. The pillow is the largest from the Wilton Pillow set of pans; I made a dark blue white chocolate flavored fondant then dry brushed with purple for the pillow; The edges were edged in a “yellowy” gold fondant brushed with old gold luster dust; The buttons were made after I did a mold of the top of the Crown lid, then pressed in the “yellowy” gold fondant and brushed with old gold luster dust; The bottle – 8 × 3 round cake and used the actual bottle as a template to cut the shape. Added buttercream for more shape, then covered in an ivory/parchment colored fondant; After placing the “cut glass” look in by following the real bottle, I then used a brown food color w/a little orange added and blended with vodka and painted it onto the bottle for the look of the liquor. The top is another “button” described previously then I took a small strip of the same fondant and went around the edge to make it look like the bottle top. The labels, are actual labels special ordered from the Crown Royal Society with specific wording for the day.
