So, I made a cake for my brother & brother in law for their joint 50th celebrations in April (see Top 50). The cake lasted the day but the figures crumbled afterwards as I had used sugarpaste with no CMC or gum trag (doh!) My brother kept the pieces & had even saved the record that covered the top of the cake. I decided to do him a new surprise cake for his actual birthday in June using the guitar & (battered) record & put it all on a board so that he could keep them to display. The new figure, made with a decent dose of florist paste is still holding strong. It’s all about the learning :)
