This cake was a challenge for me. As a last minute order I didn’t have the time required to make him beautiful ornate wings (no matter how much I tried!) I knew I wanted him to be cute, yet not too cute. He was for an 8 year old boy.
Colouring the fondant was an interesting process as everyone says how hard it is to dye fondant red and boy they’re not wrong, lots of colour and patience later and I managed to achieve a pretty good colour. The spikes are all handpainted with golden rose dust mixed with rejuvenator and the sandy board was achieved with light brown sugar.
I hope you love him as much as I do!
