This is the “Summer Holiday Stories” theme cake made for Cake Masters Magazine for the July issue 2014.My summer holiday theme is based on a little girls scrapbook story of her holidays. We preserve our holidays as memories in scrapbooks. I was trying to see through a girl’s eyes of scrapbooking for this cake. Have incorporated flowers in form of wafer flowers, hand painting and the leaves being portrayed by single stitching method (embroidery) we all learned in our childhood.I dint want the typical beach theme with ocean n cabannas, was trying to save myself out of it, cos its all so common.:) and ofcourse some printed wafer sheets, buttons(how i love them) for the scrapbook feel.I added a litlle vintage effect too. The girl also is reminded of her vacation to a beach resort. So the tiers also represent her packing for her vacation,3rd tier represents the place where she lived with the ocean view, fences and the top tier representing the sand ,and scrapbook writing that they have gone for swimming there. lots of elements , of all the moving plans we were making and selling our house. Hope you all like my work! :)
