This cake is decorated as a Royal Observer Corps Monitoring Post.
I wanted the bunker part of the cake not be immediately obvious from the front, as part of the surprise. I took inspiration for the hill from a well known gas company’s TV advert and the bunker was constructed following lots of research on google.
There are so many little bits and pieces I love about this cake, the map of the UK which I painted, the teapot and Jerry Cans are just a couple of items. My husband has enjoyed me making this cake as he loves ‘bunkers’ and could even point me in direction of a few wonderfully interesting websites – thanks love!
He has even suggested we go and tour the remaining bunkers in the UK :/
