Bright checkerboard cake (with easy peasy tutorial!)

This has been on my cake bucket list for a while… my first ever checkerboard cake!!! I’m so pleased it worked :) As you can see I chose some VERY bright colours. I’ve included some simple pics to show you the stages I took to achieve the checkerboard effect, feel free to ask any questions :) (I used 2 deep 6" round cakes).
