This cake was made for Elaine’s Dad who loves tinkering about in the shed making things out of wood.
He really likes old vintage type tools too.
The cake is triple lemon (lemon sponge with fresh zest, filled with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream and drizzled with lemon syrup before covering with fondant). Sawdust is Demerara sugar and wood shavings are fondant pieces which were peeled using a potato peeler. The last photo is the picture I found to work from when creating the fondant tools xx
