Made this for a friends Grandfather who was turning 80, he is originally a Canadian but immigrated to New Zealand so he is now a Kiwi
The Totem poles are hand painted fondant, I made my own mold using a small totem pole my Grandmother had bought back from Canada(she was Canadian also)
The Kiwi is based on a famous Cartoon Kiwi…called the Goodnight Kiwi (he used to close TV transmission back in the day….I’m showing my age here LOL) Becca’s Grandfather was a Chef so I added a wee chef hat to him
Was a bit stressful as the Cake had to be transported to Blenheim via 2 planes so Becca had to have it as stable as possible & not too big so she could carry it….thankfully she’s an awesome delivery girl & it made it there OK
