I made this cake for my son Ezekiel’s birthday in August last year, I realised I haven’t shared it on here yet! I felt a lot of pressure for this cake! My son will often see me looking at different cakes & always points out the ones he likes by saying… “I want THAT cake for my birthday mum!” which is great! but his taste of cake varies from cakes that are just completely out of my league right now to the ever changing themes! :) We decided to go for a super hero party as at the time he was well into lego batman & LOVES Iron Man. He said he wanted an Iron Man on top of the cake (hmm… I found him super hard & was glad that zeke loved him, but he’s not how I wanted him to be).
I love the super hero cakes with each tier being a different hero – but I didn’t need loads of cake! So I opted to make the board a ‘hero’ as well :) Had to put a ‘Z’ for superZeke ;)
Zeke had a great party & his friends loved his cakes!! One of the funniest things was when I cut the cake & handed it out – the mums were all amazed that the cake had layers of ganache inside (they were all new mums to me, first time having them over & most didn’t know that I decorate) I forgot that to many people, cake is just that… cake with icing on top! It was really cool seeing them get all excited about this 3 layered cake with white chocolate ganache in between :)
