Moroccan lattice

Moroccan lattice

My first attempt at using the marvelous moulds Moroccan lattice inlay mat – please can someone give me tips as to how to use this with ease as I found it very tricky, rolled flowerpaste too thick, then too thin then it got stuck? Just didn’t seem half as easy as the promotional video made it look lol

The cake is gorgeous. As far as the moulds, I think a lot depends on the fondant. The first time I used them, it was wonderful. The second time, not so much. I think the problem was the consistency of the fondant. The first time I needed some extra sugar into the fondant and if I remember correctly I let it sit for a few minutes after I rolled it out before using it. The second time the fondant was way too soft (I use homemade MMF) and sticky. It was a nightmare and didn’t come out as neat as I would have liked.

Thanks gorreti I totally agree as I have just tried again and rolled thinner, Trex’d the mould and it came out much better thank you
