This cake was for my Mother-in-law’s 80th birthday. I didn’t have a brief or any requests for anything to be on the cake specifically so the possibilities were endless.

As family is extremely important to her, I wanted to include this somewhere in the cake whilst keeping it simple, stylish and attractive (time was also a factor!) In the end I chose a colour scheme I thought she would like and included the initials of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the centre of each of the flowers which decreased in size for each generation.

And the best bit was that I got to taste some for myself!

I loved the cake before I put any of the decoration on too so added a photo of this as well.
