I always really enjoy making ‘Favourite Things’ themed cakes & cupcakes – it’s such a unique & personal way to represent someone in cake! These were for a guy whose wife & friends refer to a ‘Pilky’ because of his resemblance (both to look at & nature!) to Karl Pilkington (from ‘An Idiot Abroad’). Of course there had to be a little version of Pilky on one of the toppers along with a pair of walking boots (his love of mountaineering and climbing), a camera (his work as a professional photographer), the world & passport (to represent all his travels), Royal Marine colours (for his time served as a Royal Marine) and lastly his favourite martial art, Kung-Fu. The cake was an 8" chocolate cake surrounded by ‘Raspberry & White Chocolate’ cupcakes – the colour scheme was Rob’s favourite colours, red & green.
