Hello, My name is Melissa but I go by Mel. I have always had a major sweet tooth and loved anything artistic so that's how I started to dip my toes into the cake world. I recently was on maternity leave and bored (ok maybe not bored but more like I needed to get out of the house) so a girlfriend and I signed up for a cake decorating class at our local craft store..... Well that's when this burning fire inside me ignited and I have been going full force ever since. I have been only decorating now for around 6 months but I am trying to learn everything I can about anything cake!!!! My vision has changed, I now walk down the street and envision how I can make everything I see out of gum paste, chocolate, rice crispy treats etc.
I am excited to be part of this site and be surrounded by crazy cakers like myself!!
